After using my previous 3rd generation kindle (with keyboard) for more than a year and then unfortunately loosing it, I ordered a new 4th generation kindle touch earlier this month. Being in Australia it is not possible to get it through Amazon at the moment as it is available to order in US only. So I had to find an alternative way.

The most obvious option was to buy kindle touch through one of my friends in US and get it by post. Another way I thought of was to buy it from ebay which was pretty convenient and quicker (to get it) for me.

While researching I came across this post talking about using a third party service called Borderlinx which provides a virtual US address to mail your goods to. When the goods are received by Borderlinx, it will ask for your confirmation and once confirmed it will send you the goods to your chosen address. This seemed like a good way to buy stuff from US only stores but I wasn’t sure of its authenticiy and reliability. So, I chose the option of buying kindle touch from ebay. Understandably, I had to pay a tad more than I would have if I got it from Amazon but that was absolutely fine with me as long as I get a genuine thing.

Finally, after waiting for no more than couple of weeks, I recieved my new Kindle Touch Wifi without Special Offers & Sponsored screen savers. Since its arrival I have been playing with it and am quite impressed by its better performance (as compared to its predecessor), touch screen sensitivity, light weight and just the right size.
